Definitions

1. A paragraph is a self-contained unit of a discourse in writing dealing with a particular point or idea, or the words of an author.
2. A paragraph is a group of words, which is longer than a sentence.
3. A paragraph is a collection of related sentences dealing with a single topic.
4. A paragraph is simply one or more consecutive lines of text, separated by one or more blank lines.
5. A paragraph is a unit of writing that consists of one or more sentences focusing on a single idea or topic.

Patent

1. The supplement or amendment required under Item 3 of Paragraph One above shall not change the substance of the patent application.
2. Registration as a patent agent under this paragraph shall continue only during the period that the conditions specified in this paragraph obtain.
3. The prior patent application referred to in the preceding Paragraph shall be deemed having been withdrawn after 15 months from its filing date.

Paragraph

1. They are fine for a sentence, passable for a paragraph, but are difficult to use well in, say, the text of a book.

Direction

1. When using justification, it is customary to treat the last line of a paragraph separately by left or right aligning it, depending on the language direction.
2. The line-progression direction for inline areas in the paragraph is the placement direction of the paragraph.

Form Paragraph

1. This form paragraph may be used in an Office action which rejects any of the claims on other grounds.

Indent

1. The function of a paragraph indent is to mark a pause, setting the paragraph apart from what precedes it.

Macro
